K-12 USDA Donated Foods Program

M.C.I. Foods, Inc. is a member of the American Commodity Distribution Association.  We participate in the donated foods program, which comprises 15-20% of all food served on school lunch plates.  The program is run through the USDA, Food and Nutrition Service (FNS).  The program has two major goals, to help farmers meet their economic needs and serve the nutritional needs of students.

Districts are assigned donated food entitlement dollars every year based on Average Daily Participation (ADP) during the prior school year.  Districts, in turn, use their Entitlement dollars to purchase donated foods for the National School Lunch Program.

M.C.I. Foods, Inc. is a donated foods processor of cheese.  The donated foods are further processed into food products, such as burritos, soft tacos, enchiladas, & quesadillas.
